Leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints founded Brigham Young University in the 1950s. The Hawaii campus is located in the quiet ocean side community of Laie, a town surrounded by tall mountains and low valleys. BYU offers over 40 majors in areas separated into four main categories: Business, Computing, and Government; Human Development; Language, Culture, and Arts; and Math and Sciences. In their free time, students can join one of more than 50 clubs, catch a theatrical presentation in the Performance Series, or hang out in “The Hub” game center.
